As is mentioned in the release, redistricting is a key focus in 2011. Compared to the City Council districts in North Dallas, the four districts that encompass Southern Dallas are drawn in a way that dilutes the power and unity of the communities. Buckner Terrace, Piedmont, and Pleasant Grove should be in the same Council district. This is an inequity that we seek to correct in this redistricting cycle. More of this plan will be laid out at the appropriate time.
